Flip The Script
Joseph was a script flipper. His brothers sold him into slavery and a few years after, they were bowing before him to serve him. He later told them, “You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good” (Genesis 50:20).
Ruth flipped the script. Life dealt her a series of blows. She was a young, childless, and poor Gentile widow. But she trusted God and did right, and a few years later she was a prominent Jewish woman who gave birth to King David’s grandfather and became a matriarch to the royal bloodline of Jesus.
David flipped the script. King Saul had the armies of Israel hunting him down, intending to kill him. A few years later, he was king and commanding those armies.
Esther flipped the script. The second most powerful man in Babylon came up with a genocide scheme to annihilate the Jews. So Esther became the most powerful woman in Babylon. She flipped the script and a few years later, Jewish leaders were in the most influential positions and their enemies were dead.
The Bible is full of these script flipping stories.
Jesus was the greatest script flipper in history. When all the hosts of hell were rejoicing over His demise, He came out of the grave, split history between BC and AD, and transformed humanity.
Jesus flipped Peter’s script, Paul’s script, and then the script of 3,000 people on Pentecost. Generation after generation of people who came to Him have had their script flipped. And I know. The script of my life has also been flipped.
In the greatest sermon ever preached, Jesus invites us into a script flipping life. He even flips the script on how to flip the script.
Total transformation is available to you. And not just for this life, but for eternity.
